The National Police Defense Foundation is actively recruiting
professionals and corporate sponsors who can demonstrate their support
for the law enforcement community. A Congressionally endorsed, not-for-profit
501.C.3 police association, the NPDF provides assistance, services, and
counseling to law enforcement personnel throughout the United States. In
addition, the NPDF provides a free legal
and medical referral program. The
NPDF has more than 7,500 active members and supporters - in addition to
over 100,000 honorary members through its affiliate NPDF police associations.
The NPDF also has two major anti-crime initiatives to
protect the rights of the law-enforcement community, as well as the American
public:
Operation Safe Cop
This congressionally endorsed anti-crime initiative provides
for a $10,000 bounty on anyone who shoots a law-enforcement officer anywhere
in the United States. New corporate sponsorship is being sought in order
to continue this program in 1997.
Operation Kids
In its partnership with the American public, the NPDF is
concerned about the serious increase of missing and exploited children.
The NPDF has developed a program that provides disposable fingerprint kits
for parents. Simply call (800) 556-0597 to receive a kit. New corporate
sponsors are being sought to continue financing of this program.
